| Stop Being A Pessimist! |
"The pessimist sees difficulty in every opportunity. The optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty." -Winston Churchill
The problem most people have with any type of investing is fear. The fact is, our society teaches us to work for money, when we should be focused on making money work for us. Think about it, what have you been taught all of your life? Go to school and get a good education so that you can get a decent paying good job with good benefits. Work hard, put in your time, build your nest egg and retire. My question is: retire when? Take a look around you. Over 79% of baby boomers feel that they have to continue to work at least part-time during their retirement years because they do not have enough money saved to maintain the same type of lifestyle that they are used to living. I don't know about you, but I want to be able to enjoy my life, not work, after I retire.
Why are people being forced to continue to work when they should be enjoying life? The main reason is fear. How many times have you heard people say things like, "It takes money to make money," or "Investing is risky, " or "Money isn't really important to me." The problem most people have is that our society causes them to be pessimistic rather than optimistic.
I can tell you that I used to have this same attitude. I came from a typical hard-working family of modest means and with a strong mid-western work ethic. My parents used to tell me to "Study hard, get good grades and you'll be able to get a high-paying job with great benefits." My parents' goal was to make sure that my brother and I both got a college education. When I followed their advice, earned a R.O.T.C. scholarship and graduated from Ohio Northern University, my parents were very happy. After all, I got my education and I received my commission as an officer in the United States Army. Now I could look forward to a long career in the Army and retire with full benefits at an early age.
Well, I ended up spending 6 years in the Army. Although I loved the Army, my priorities changed. I ended up meeting my wife and I made the decision that I did not want to have to pick up and move every few years. I also did not want her to have to constantly worry about me deploying (one year spent in Iraq was enough). So what did I do? I got a job. I ended up working for over two years as an Account Executive for a very good company. The money was great; however, I started to realize that I was really not getting ahead in life. Although I am only 33, I started to do the math and I quickly realized that my benefits were not that good, I had no pension plan, and my 401K was just not going to cut it.
What I began to see is that we live in a world where there is so much opportunity! Look at all of the people that have become millionaires and even billionaires! Just getting a good education and having a good job no longer ensures success. I realized that I no longer wanted to be average. I believe that we live in a world where possibilities are limitless if you just put your fears aside in order to build up the courage it takes to go out and do what it takes to become financially free.
What does all of this have to do with foreclosure investing? Well I believe that it is a great way for you to get started on your path to financial freedom. Will you get rich quick? Probably not: however, if you're willing to put in the time and effort necessary to fully understand the information that InTheNumbers provides for you, then you will be on your way.
Our resources, educational materials and tools were created and compiled for serious, goal-driven and action-oriented individuals who are willing to perform due diligence to profit from the many financial opportunities that pre-foreclosure and foreclosure properties provide. If you want to succeed, stop being a pessimist and put your fears aside. Understand that this will be difficult at first; however, your optimistic can-do attitude will allow you to seize the opportunity and achieve results that you never believed were possible! |
